Where Do I Know You From? Raymond Cruz
Spotted: CSI: Miami, season 2 episode "Hurricane Anthony"
Spotted as: Man impaled on iron fence in hurricane aftermath. This being CSI, he is also the victim of an elaborately orchestrated murder plot.
Initial reaction: Hey, I know that guy!
Best guess: Er ... Maybe Lost?
Possibilities: Apparently Raymond Cruz is so well known as to be uncredited in his role as 'Martin Modesta' in this episode. Born July 1961 in L.A. (he grew up in the 'hood, I'm told) he's well-known for playing military roles. Looking at his credits, he's featured prominently in Breaking Bad, My Name Is Earl and The Closer, three TV series I have never watched. He's been in a couple episodes of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (a.k.a CSI Vegas) which I have never seen. He was in a Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode ("The Siege of AR-558") which I have no memory of seeing. He was in Alien: Resurrection (which I certainly have seen) as Vincent Destephano - one of the pirates, maybe?
Oh, and he had uncredited roles in Broken Arrow and The Rock as generic military men. Maybe that's why he seems so familiar?
Well, Where Did I Know Him From? Inconclusive. Maybe he just has one of those faces.
Conclusion: If I ever need someone to stand in a corner with a gun or die impaled on a fence with their bloody hand clasped sternly yet lovingly by Horatio Caine, I shall call Raymond Cruz.
